    CASE Insights summary benchmarking reports

    The summary benchmarking report provides a visual representation of year-over-year trends in comparison data. By participating in a survey, CASE members gain easy access to personalized reports with peer comparisons for several surveys, along with detaile

    Summary benchmarking reports are:

    • A benefit of CASE membership for survey participants
    • Interactive and visual
    • Designed to share with staff and volunteer leaders
    • The beginning step for using comparison benchmarks. Dig deeper on your own in the data portal (formerly known as Data Miner) or partner with CASE Insights to unlock more in-depth analysis with the strategic benchmarking report.

    Summary benchmarking reports by survey

    The five closest peers are selected using CASE’s algorithm to find those most like your institution or school, based on a combination of data from the survey and key characteristics appended from other sources. 

    How to access: The report is added to the “downloadable reports” section of the data portal (formerly known as Data Miner) and is visible from the home page to all users at your institution upon logging in. CASE will also send a copy of the report to the institution’s Chief Advancement Officer as well as the survey respondent. 

    Next steps using results: Partner with CASE by purchasing a strategic benchmarking report, which includes ability to select your own peers, detailed analysis, and review calls with the CASE Insights Solutions team.

    Peers are grouped using the MacLean’s categorization of Canadian institutions. 

    How to access: The report is added to the “downloadable reports” section of the CASE Insights data portal (formerly known as Data Miner) and is visible from the home page to all users at your institution upon logging in. CASE will also send a copy of the report to the institution’s Chief Advancement Officer as well as the survey respondent.

    Peers are grouped based on a combination of “Group of 8,” New Funds Secured and Staff FTE’s.

    Summary benchmarking report coming by May 2023

    This report will show broad peer comparisons in this first year of data collection through the partnership with NAIS. Over time, peer selection and reporting will become more robust we incorporate trending  and schools refine internal policies and counting procedures in adherence with CASE Global Reporting Standards.
