Stephen App is the business development manager at Campus Sonar, a specialized social listening agency that matches high-value social media intelligence and engagement opportunities to organizational strategic initiatives. He is also the host of seasons 1 and 2 of the Hashtag Higher Ed Podcast, a bi-weekly podcast that explores new ways higher education marketers connect with audiences through content.

App earned a bachelor's degree in communication from Stonehill College and a master's degree in communication management from Temple University. An amateur runner and professional donut connoisseur, you can frequently find him on Twitter staunchly defending the Oxford Comma.

Ashley Budd is senior marketing director at Cornell University. She is based in Saratoga Springs, N.Y., working remotely for the university as a content strategist and campaign project manager for the division. Known for her creative and innovative marketing campaigns, Budd is one of the most influential voices in education marketing and fundraising.

Prior to joining the digital team at Cornell, Budd spent more than five years at her alma mater, Rochester Institute of Technology, where she led social media strategy for undergraduate admissions. She is author of the popular newsletter Ashley in Your Inbox and speaks regularly before international nonprofit groups.

Krista Boniface

Senior Social Media Strategist, University of Toronto

Krista Boniface is a Senior Social Media Strategist overseeing the central social media presence for Canada’s top university, the University of Toronto at @UofT. She has 7 years of marketing communications experience in higher education, non-profits and start-up environments. Krista has created strategy, social media activations, video and web content for the central U of T communications team, the University of Waterloo, Wilfrid Laurier University, the Canadian Screen Awards, Toronto International Film Festival as well as a Canada 150 Signature Project for the Canada’s sesquicentennial. At the University of Toronto, Krista loves interacting with brilliant students, the endless possibilities of social engagement and making a real impact on student experience. Talk to her about social media strategy, creating an authentic story on social or otherwise, how to avoid burnout when you’re at the helm of social channels and poutine.

Senior Director, Marketing, West Virginia University

As the Senior Director of Marketing at West Virginia University, Tony Dobies has positioned the University as a leader in creative marketing and social media. He is a vocal advocate for new and innovative approaches to marketing in higher education and has spoken at numerous national conferences on the importance of social media in marketing and communications. At WVU, he leads a team of talented social media managers, market researchers, advertisers, marketing strategists, brand and trademark licensing experts. Together with his team, he designs and manages marketing projects and initiatives to help reach the University's highest goals, especially in regard to recruitment. In 2015, he was named a "30 under 30 Rising PR Star" by PR News. He graduated from WVU in 2009 with a bachelor's degree in journalism and again in 2017 with a master's degree in integrated marketing communications.

Erin Supinka

Associate Director for Digital Engagement, Dartmouth College

Erin Supinka is a digital strategist with eight years of experience helping higher education institutions communicate with and engage their target audiences. She currently serves as the assistant director for digital engagement at Dartmouth College. Erin leads the institution’s social media program and works with senior leadership to identify the most effective ways to disseminate key messages across digital platforms and tracks the success of those messages across multiple channels.
