Scoring the Movie: A Cinematic Look at the Role of a Campaign in Supporting and Enabling Your University's Strategic Goals
If you've ever watched a scene from a major blockbuster, suspenseful drama, or horror classic with the score removed, you will know how clearly this illustrates the impact, resonance, and transformational role that music plays in film. Understanding the key role your campaign plays in your institution is just as important, but not nearly so easily illustrated. This session will provide a novel perspective on how to think about, frame, and articulate your campaign plan to internal stakeholders, and explores how when composed successfully, it can ensure that your university has a powerful and lasting impact on its audience.
Speakers: Steve Corbett, Director of Development & Alumni Relations, University of Leicester

Philanthropy and Wellbeing - What are the Associations: A Study of Conservatoires UK
It is no exaggeration to suggest that the Covid-19 pandemic (2019-2022) significantly changed our lives. The performing arts faced the most significant crisis in living memory, profoundly affecting professionals in the field. Thus, philanthropy is needed more than ever if the performing arts and higher education institutions can continue to deliver outstanding education, outreach, and research. A deeper understanding of our donors’ beliefs, thoughts and feelings can help. This session will explore this further, presenting new research on the relationship between well-being and giving to others in music education in the conservatoire setting – can giving be good for you?

Navigating Asia: Using Data and Market Intelligence for Prioritisation in the Asia Tiger Economies
Asia is home to more billionaires than any other continent and will see the fastest growth in ultra-high-net-worth individuals by 2030. For universities, prospect pipelines from Asia will grow, as the largest numbers of international students to the UK continue to be from Asia. However, given the size, diversity and complexity of the region, as well as competition and limited fundraising resources, rigorous prioritisation and strategic focus are required. This session will explore a range of data sets and market intelligence that support an evidence-based approach to strategic engagement. It will also draw from institutions that are experienced in Asian fundraising, and share new approaches in navigating the Tiger Economies.
Speakers: Richard Everitt, Head Development Asia, Imperial College London, Nathalia Tjandra, Head of International Development, Edinburgh Napier University
