As Vice President for University Relations and Enrollment Management at West Virginia University, Sharon Martin leads the marketing, communication and recruitment strategies for the University. Prior to her arrival at WVU in 2013, Sharon led the brand and creative teams at Purdue University. Her career also includes owning a boutique marketing agency, where she co-founded a local women’s magazine. She worked for the Purdue Alumni Association for 13 years, serving as director of communications and editor of the alumni magazine. Sharon serves on the WVU Alumni Association Board of Directors and has served on the boards of several professional associations including National Mortar Board, Association of Women in Communications, the American Marketing Association and the American Cancer Society. When she’s not at her day job, Sharon is hanging out with her husband, David, and their three teenagers who are busy on their devices — until she turns off the wifi.
