Advancement Inclusion Index
Are you ready to measure your DEIB efforts?
Organizational diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB) efforts should begin with an impartial baseline assessment of the existing documents, practices, groups, resources, and responses that are designed to ensure diverse, equitable, and inclusive work environments. A new tool called the Advancement Inclusion Index does just that -- it measures DEIB progress across four major categories of advancement policy and practice in addition to capturing respondent and demographic information.
The categories include:
- Strategy and Methods
- Culture and Climate
- Advancement Policies and Practices
- Talent Management and DEIB Training
Each category of the Index has a score of 0-5, corresponding to the number of colored bars in each category column with the overall DEIB maturity score being the average of the category scores. Below is a sample output of the Advancement Inclusion Index:

DEIB efforts for each category are interpreted according to the following scale:

Institutions can use the individual category, as well as the overall DEIB scores to benchmark DEIB accomplishments, identify gaps and deficiencies, establish a trajectory, and measure progress of future work.
