The District Legacy Fund was established in recognition of the exemplary work of the eight districts across the US and Canada supporting, stewarding, and growing the professions of philanthropy, alumni relations, and marketing and communications within education. The District Legacy Fund provides an opportunity to CASE members in each of the eight US/Canada districts to seek funds to support engagement and professional development.

Preference will be given to proposals that:

    1. Benefit and impact the largest number of CASE members and member institutions.
    2. Align with CASE’s strategic priorities (Educational Programs; Global Membership; Data and Research; CASE as a Thought Leader; Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging; and Enabling People and Culture) and should not compete with existing CASE programming

The District Legacy Fund is an opportunity to pilot ideas that aid districts in engaging existing and/or new potential members through innovative projects that enhance the professional portfolio of CASE offerings. Proposals should not be submitted that focus on a single benefit to an individual member, nor support a competitor to CASE.

The District Legacy Fund is overseen by the Legacy Fund Committee, which is comprised of one appointee from each of the eight US/Canada districts and chaired by a member of the US/Canada Council. The Legacy Fund Committee will review all submitted grant fund proposals and make award decisions as a group based on the quality of submissions and available funding.

CASE will administer the distribution of funds to the winning proposal submitter(s) with an upfront grant award of the full amount.

All grant funds must be expended within an 18-month period from awarding of funds. Additionally, awardees agree to submit a quarterly update to the Legacy Fund Committee on the progress of the project.
