Bio

Abi has been working in the alumni sector in low resource contexts for the last ten years. She has developed models for building alumni networks in state schools and low-cost independent schools in the UK, Australia, New Zealand, Pakistan, Kenya, Rwanda and more. She has published guides, research, and resources on the topic. Abi now runs inHive, an organisation that specialises in supporting alumni networks in low resource and non-traditional contexts - supporting school networks (like CARE Foundation in Pakistan who work with 800 government schools), scholarship programmes (like the Mastercard Foundation who have funded 35,000 scholarships to young people across sub-Saharan Africa), leadership programmes (like Frontline, Police Now and Now Teach in the UK) and employability and entrepreneurship programmes. In addition, inHive serves as an alumni network sector builder in less well-resourced contexts to learn, collaborate and develop practices in network building. In the last 12 months this has included launching and implementing the first experiential 'Networks Learning Journey' for network researchers (like Yale Law School), funders (like IKEA Foundation and Siemens Stiftung), network leaders (like Teach for All) and companies interested in networks (like Facebook), and a global community of practice for alumni leaders, called Nexus.
