    Congratulations to Tatiana Molina Velasquez, Sustainability Director at UNIVERSIDAD CES, recipient of the 2021 Robert Henry Minority Advancement Institute Scholarship!

    Tatiana is passionate about generating value, helping others fulfill their dreams and impacting her community through educational advancement. Tatiana is eager to have the opportunity to gain knowledge through CASE programming that she can bring back to her region to leverage for institutional growth.

    In support of the CASE Minority Advancement Institute

    The Robert Henry MAI Scholarship Fund will provide a scholarship to be awarded annually to support participants attending the Minority Advancement Institute. For Fall 2021, one scholarship will be awarded to a minority advancement professional employed at a CASE member institution.

    The funds will be used to defray the cost of registration to the MAI.

    Rob Henry is vice president of development, culture, and talent at CASE where he is responsible for creating an overall global strategy for achieving CASE's vision and mission related to talent management and for guiding conference programming, diversity/inclusion initiatives, research, and the CASE Library.

    Formerly an active CASE volunteer speaker and adviser, Rob joined the CASE staff in 2006 as head of emerging constituencies, later adding the responsibility for online educational programs. He previously held advancement management positions at Yale University, the University of Connecticut Foundation and Michigan State University.

    Rob is a graduate of Murray State University and has a master's degree from Eastern Michigan University. In 2006, he received the prestigious CASE Crystal Apple Award for Teaching Excellence.

    Instructions

    Applicants should have three or fewer years of experience in educational advancement or have changed advancement disciplines in the last three years. (For example: Changed from alumni relations to fundraising.)

    Nominations open: August 18, 2021
    Nominations close: October 6, 2021

    The applicant will be asked to answer the following questions:

    • Describe your advancement office (size, scope of work), and your role within the office. 
    • How did you come to work in educational advancement?
    • Why do you do the work that you do? 
    • What do you think distinguishes you from others who may apply for this scholarship?
    • What professional development and institutional needs, would you hope to meet by attending a CASE conference? 

    The applicant also will be asked to upload the following:

    • Current resume
    • A letter of support on institutional letterhead from the applicant's supervisor.
    • A professional photo, which can be used by CASE for promotional purposes if the nominee's application is successful.
