Plenary - Giving milestone recognition: how to leverage your data to deepen connections with your most loyal supporters
True donor loyalty can be as inspiring as one great gift, and often much harder to sustain – requiring consistent engagement, genuine appreciation and a shared vision that keeps donors connected over time. We often find ourselves basing stewardship activities on the size of a donor’s gift, but celebrating loyalty among those who truly champion your mission is equally fundamental to an organisation’s fundraising future. Join Ollie and Phoebe to hear about LSE’s work in establishing a purposeful framework for tracking and celebrating giving milestones for supporters at all levels, and how this can enrich even your most cherished relationships.
Speakers: Ollie Bennett, Donor Relations Manager, London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), Phoebe Allen, Donor Relations Officer, London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE)

Plenary - Stewarding Major Donors
Latest donor trends tell us that personalisation is more important than ever to donors, and therefore pivotal to meaningful donor engagement. So with this in mind, how can we tailor our donor stewardship to truly resonate with each supporter? The Seven Faces of Philanthropy (based on the book by Russ Alan Prince and Karen Maru File) provides a powerful tool for understanding donor motivations—whether they give out of tradition, social influence, or deep personal values.
This session will explore how to put this theory into practice, ensuring it enhances—rather than adds to—the workload of donor relations teams. From crafting bespoke stewardship plans to integrating the framework seamlessly into existing processes, we’ll share actionable insights to deepen donor relationships and drive long-term support.
Speakers: Annarosa Muscatelli, Senior Consultant, Cairney & Company

Plenary - Beyond the Gift: Creating Lasting Impact Through Donor Storytelling
This session explores how the University of Glasgow marked the close of its £110M fundraising campaign, shifting from a financial focus to impact-driven engagement through targeted events and communications underpinned by powerful storytelling. The sessions will offer practical insights and lessons for colleagues seeking to create lasting connections with their donors.

Elective session – Establishing a legacy stewardship programme
In December 2023, The University of Manchester launched the 1824 Society - a stewardship vehicle intended to package the stewardship journey for legacy donors. The launch of the society was a great success – resulting in a 100% increase in legacy pledges in the 2023 financial year. In this session Legacy Officer, Amy Harris, will share the steps she took to establish a legacy stewardship programme from scratch which utilises pre-existing activity to maintain and grow the legacy pipeline. She’ll also discuss how legacy stewardship strategically aligns with the fundraising priorities and the opportunities for collaboration which help to boost success.
