Join us for this APAC pre-conference deep dive session on the essentials of a campaign. As part of this session you will receive a toolkit with resources that support learning on the ambition and purpose of your campaign, institutional needs, making the case for support, team capacity, pipeline building as well as counting and tracking.
This session will be facilitated and delivered by Susie Balch, Associate Vice Chancellor, Institutional Advancement, NYU Abu Dhabi and Katherine Muller, Executive Director of Operations and Donor Relations, Advancement. London Business School.
Important Note: This will run concurrently with the Leadership Forum, and Roadmap to Advancement on 7 May 2024.

Susie Balch
Susie Balch serves as Associate Vice Chancellor for Institutional Advancement at NYU Abu Dhabi, leading efforts to strengthen and expand the university’s philanthropic partnerships, alumni relations, and institutional growth on a global scale.
With over 35 years of experience in education, specializing in institutional strategy, philanthropy, and global engagement, Susie’s expertise has been instrumental in shaping long-term growth for the institutions she’s worked in. Throughout her career, she has held leadership roles at London Business School, Chicago Waldorf School, Middlesex School, and Harvard Law School — successfully guiding advancement teams across continents and securing transformative support for academic excellence, research, and innovation.
A recognized leader in advancement, Susie excels at aligning development strategies with institutional ambitions. She is passionate about fostering meaningful engagement with global stakeholders and has dedicated her career to enhancing the impact of higher education through philanthropy and strategic partnerships.

Katherine Muller
As Executive Director of Operations and Donor Relations Katherine’s role encompasses all areas of Advancement services, as well as oversight of strategy and planning, budgeting and people activities.
Katherine joined London Business School in 2009 as Director of Advancement Operations working alongside the Associate Dean, Advancement to prepare the school for its first comprehensive fundraising campaign. This involved setting up the operations function and preparing the foundation for successful friend and fundraising across the department. London Business School closed its campaign two years early in summer 2016 having raised £125m and 124,000 volunteer hours.
Before moving into the education sector, Katherine was Head of Development Services at Southbank Centre, the UK’s largest multi-disciplined arts centre. During her time there, the Development Department successfully delivered the £111million transformation of the Royal Festival Hall. She began her career at Arts & Business, where she headed up a team of consultants advising arts organisations on how they can benefit from corporate philanthropy and sponsorship.
