The Leadership Accelerator module within the Spring Institute is designed to help delegates sharpen their leadership skills and supercharge their Institute experience.

Back for 2026 with a refreshed curriculum, faculty members will provide delegates with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to begin achieving their long-term career goals, through a series of discussions and activities on the ‘Who, What and How of Leadership’, including making difficult decisions, leading through change, and identifying and developing your own leadership style.

Please note, that this module requires commitment to three sessions in addition to the closing plenary ‘Developing a Rewarding Career in Advancement’ in the core SIEF programme.

Module Objectives

  • Access to leaders: Gain invaluable insights on how to lead a team
  • Define your leadership style: Reflect on your own leadership style. Explore what sets you apart and how you can make a bigger impact
  • Navigate tough situations: Leadership isn't always smooth sailing. Learn how to navigate challenges and respond effectively, even in the most demanding situations
  • Take the discussion further: Go deeper into the toughest topics that arise during the rest of the SIEF programme

Sessions

Session 1 - Tuesday 28 April, 3:40 PM

Session 2 - Wednesday 29 April, 4:15 PM

Session 3 – Thursday 30 April, 4:15 PM

How to register

Participation is open to all SIEF delegates, regardless of whether you’re a current or aspiring leader. There is no additional charge, but delegates must pre-register for the module. An enrolment form will be distributed to delegates following registration.

As part of the CASE Spring Institute 2024, I had the pleasure of participating in the new Leadership Accelerator course, which was fantastic. The faculty created a safe, supportive environment that made each session enjoyable and engaging. The recommended book, The Chief Development Officer: Beyond Fundraising, was a brilliant addition and well worth the investment. For anyone looking to sharpen their leadership skills or add valuable tools to their professional toolbox, this course is an excellent choice.

Lucy Waring, Senior Engagement and Relationships Officer at Lifelites (2024 SIEF Delegate)
