PrincipalED: Branksome Hall’s New Sound of Leadership
From the Nominator
How do you introduce a new principal to a school at a moment when longstanding tradition is evolving into future-focused innovation? At Branksome Hall, the answer wasn't another newsletter; it was a dialogue. Through a candid new podcast series called PrincipalED, Branksome's new principal, Grace McCallum, used the power of courageous conversations to build trust, deepen connection, and invite the community into her leadership approach in real time. The podcast launched in February 2025, with psychologist and New York Times bestselling author Dr. Lisa Damour as its first guest, setting a benchmark for high‑caliber thought leadership. Guests since have broadened the lens, from an Olympic gold medalist to an attorney and media analyst alum, Branksome student leaders, and entrepreneurs whose voices reflect the school’s diversity and momentum. Episodes cultivate authenticity through intentional design: Candid exchanges over branded mugs, a rapid‑fire close, and a guest‑generated playlist add energy and personality. Engagement metrics show strong early traction. Episodes draw several hundred plays in their first month, with YouTube consistently delivering over 150 views. On audio platforms, loyalty has grown steadily, with releases reaching over 2,400 community members through email campaigns with strong click‑through rates. Bridging thought leadership and community engagement, PrincipalED strengthens connections, advances institutional priorities, and invites listeners into the conversations shaping Branksome’s future.
