From the Nominator

Prattfolio, the magazine of Pratt Institute, highlights the work, ideas, and activity of Pratt people to inform, inspire, and connect Pratt’s diverse community in a thoughtfully written and designed package as distinctive as our readers. We take each issue of Prattfolio as an opportunity to explore a theme relevant to our alumni and campus community from multiple angles, reflecting the approach our readers take in their work across a range of disciplines. For Spring 2025, we focused on perspective shifts, moments when amid disruption, change, even failure, creatives and innovators find clarity and make new paths. Planning this issue in fall 2024 felt like an impossible task, with all the uncertainty of the moment. What could we make for our community that would feel tuned in while fulfilling our aim to inspire? After strategizing with our alumni team and institutional leadership, we decided to focus on personal stories that affirmed the persistence and inventiveness of our alumni and the power of a creative education. Our Fall 2025 issue delved further into those ideas with stories about how we make, whether it’s experimenting with emerging technologies or time-tested methods of craft, finding potential in everyday materials or exploring new mediums. We listened to interest from our admissions and advancement colleagues in showcasing one of Pratt’s distinctive offerings, our shops and labs, where students have brought their ideas to life for generations. We let students lead the way, hoping their stories would empower their peers and connect alumni to their Pratt foundations.

A very aesthetically pleasing publication. The images are interesting and the design is clean. Additionally, it offered a lot of engaging information without being busy and while keeping a nice flow for the reader. An impressive publication especially given the budget.
