Family Guidebook
From the Nominator
The Webb School Family Guidebook 2025-2026 was developed by the Alumni and Development Office as a resource for families of our middle and upper school students. The primary goal was to bridge the information gap for families—vital partners in student success—by consolidating culture, traditions, and operational data into a single, accessible multi-channel resource. With a diverse student body representing 25 countries and 12 states, fostering a genuine sense of belonging is a priority, and a shared understanding of our 156-year-old traditions is vital to equity and integration. We moved beyond standard emails to provide a reference for Webb’s unique terminology—such as The Foot, Trapping, and Senior Boards—and our deeply rooted honor code. This initiative prioritized cross-departmental collaboration; our office partnered closely with the director of marketing and communications, during her inaugural month, to ensure the project was mission-aligned and brand-consistent. By defining the role of the Parents’ Association and our culture of giving, we created a roadmap for engagement. The result is an onboarding experience that provides a shared vocabulary for our diverse community and clarifies philanthropy as a natural extension of school citizenship.
From the Judges
The judges especially appreciated the guidebook's design and its role in supporting a 111% increase in the number of families contributing to the Webb fund. We were equally impressed by the minimal use of resources to create such an effective piece. It's a model for other institutions.
