Faculty of Health Sciences Awards & Distinctions Hub
From the Nominator
In 2025, McMaster’s Faculty of Health Sciences (FHS) identified the need for a centralized resource that streamlines how faculty, staff, students, and alumni access award opportunities. This resulted in the launch of the FHS Awards & Distinctions Hub. The hub outlines why nominations matter, how to prepare strong submissions, and where to find internal, external, teaching, discipline-based, and university-wide awards. It also highlights recent recipients. The hub delivers value by increasing engagement in nomination processes and supporting the work of the Faculty’s Nominations & Awards Committee, which identifies and advances candidates for major awards. Rooted in McMaster’s commitment to excellence and access, the hub showcases the committee’s equity-driven approach, transparent procedures, and efforts to broaden and diversify the pool of nominees. Since the hub’s launch, FHS has seen impressive website engagement metrics, with over 1,340 page views across 545 users and an average session duration of nearly 7 minutes. This engagement translated into more than 450 website events related to nomination opportunities, resulting in a 10% increase in high-profile awards and a 20% increase in nominations for the Faculty.
From the Judges
This is a practical, well-focused micro-site that solves a clear problem and delivers real results. By bringing award and nomination information into one easy-to-use place, the hub makes it much simpler for faculty, staff, and students to find opportunities and take action.
