From the Nominator
With widespread cuts to research funding in academia, we felt it timely and necessary to understand the history of science and research funding at American universities. When, how, and why did it start, how did it evolve, and what are the political and economic factors driving its history and its future? We felt this was something that all of our readers would be interested in, given the massive threat to Columbia’s research operations.
From the Judges
A very timely, well organized, and easily digestible article on a topic that many struggle to deliver to their audience.
