The video “10 Resume Tips From Career Coach Brigette Marty” is a multiplatform social media initiative designed to provide professional value to students and alumni of the University of Minnesota Carlson School of Management. Our goal was to leverage the themes of a feature article from our alumni magazine to create a high-impact video companion piece that highlights the Carlson Business Career Center. While the original article used a narrative style to showcase the center's impact, the video extracted a specific creative hook—Marty’s passion for cars—to deliver standalone advice for our active LinkedIn audience. Our social media strategist worked closely with Marty to develop a script that blended expert tips with automotive metaphors. After the shoot, our social media strategist enhanced the edit with emojis and sound effects to maintain high viewer retention. The results were exceptional, as the video became Carlson’s top-performing social content of 2025. It received 477,548 views and 3,757 engagements on LinkedIn alone. Across Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok, the video earned 203 saves, suggesting that users viewed the content as a long-term resource. By blending expert coaching with a unique creative hook, the video increased the visibility of our career resources.
