When Does a Concussion Actually Become Dangerous?
From the Nominator
This is a video explainer that walks us through what happens to the brain during a concussion and some of the interesting history behind this research. We spoke with University of California, Berkeley Neurologist Bob Knight to give us the explanation and how it applies to some of his own research. This episode is part of our ongoing video series known as Fig. 1 where we talk with researchers at UC and ask them to break down complex research in an easy to understand and fun to watch video.
From the Judges
We love that the concept of this video is to talk to us and not at us. They did a great job of not only identifying what their audience thought of something (from the initial social post they based this video on), but also used real comments from audience members to feed into the information being shared. That really drew us in. Visually, the graphics did a good job at illustrating the idea that was being discussed. An excellent video that really hit the mark.
