SFSU Campus Housing: Where You Wanna Be
From the Nominator
As both demand and supply in student housing have increased at San Francisco State University, the Office of Strategic Marketing and Communications sought a creative way to showcase both the newly built and the classic residential halls to prospective students. How can we tell the story that imparts to our target audience the joys of living on campus and encourages them to apply for housing? By making a music video, of course. Throughout the 72-second video, more than 15 students are dancing in each of the residential communities on campus, from courtyard to hallway, kitchenette to laundry room. Most of the student talent improvised their moves while the camera rolled and the song played, but one duo created original choreography to go with the music. The video has been viewed nearly 34,000 times and sparked hundreds of interactions on social media.
From the Judges
Really well-produced and a feel-good watch from start to finish. The choreography, cinematography, and editing all came together to create an upbeat, engaging piece that clearly resonated with its student audience. Smart and creative way to highlight campus housing and drive traffic to the site. A fun and effective use of student energy and school spirit.
