The Power of 3: Brunswick School Math Team Documentary
From the Nominator
In spring 2024, Brunswick School videographer Michael Catenacci requested permission to shadow the Upper School Math Team on its odyssey through a series of regional competitions. In the life of our school, he noted, academic triumphs are every bit as meaningful and important as those earned on fields of play. However, as Brunswick has for so long shined in its athletics excellence, students’ academic focus and achievements might too easily escape notice. So, he set out to balance the scales. “The Power of 3,” a mini-documentary at once compact and exceptionally ambitious, is a testament, not an appeal. Crafted for Brunswick’s entire support community, and also for prospective students and their families, it implicitly encourages all to see a great school in an even greater light. The 10-minute video was sent in a pushed email. During the next three days, more than 1,150 recipients watched; approximately 85% remained engaged very near to the end. Like us, they likely agreed that, when you enjoy your company and love what you do, “time really flies.” This filmmaker’s “labor of love” prompted both donors and prospective families to see and respond to Brunswick in a truly different and even more positive light—and they certainly have! We’re immensely proud of all the wonderful young men who have contributed to the growing success of Brunswick’s Math Team. We hope you’ll join us in sharing in appreciation of their talent, dedication, camaraderie, and good-natured spirit of togetherness and celebration.
