Parent Resources Through an Online Community
From the Nominator
In 2024, the West Point Association of Graduates (WPAOG) began integrating West Point Parents Clubs into the Sallyport community platform, creating a centralized space for parents to connect, collaborate, and celebrate throughout their cadets’ 47-month-long journey. This initiative streamlines communication, event management, and resource sharing, ensuring that parents can access reliable support and guidance at every stage. The platform enables parents to engage with local groups called Societies, share experiences, and offer guidance to new families navigating the West Point experience. In a structured format, Parents Clubs can efficiently coordinate events, such as summer picnics, care packages, and tailgates. The user-friendly design makes it easy to navigate and communicate. With 8,204 parents currently engaged and a Net Promoter Score (NPS) of 100, this initiative has significantly improved parent involvement and strengthened bonds among West Point families.
From the Judges
We liked this initiative. It was replicable and gave parents a way to engage; it was a very clear and straightforward idea to build an online community for parents that was also connected to local chapters.
