ON&ON Campaign Launch Items
From the Nominator
In October 2024, we launched ON&ON: The Campaign for Texas Tech University. This marks the first fundraising campaign dedicated solely to just the university. The weekend featured three events: an exclusive dinner and program on Thursday night, a VIP area for the campaign-sponsored homecoming concert, and a Saturday tailgate tent. Each event was invitation-only for select alumni and friends. For the Thursday night event, we sought to provide attendees with something uniquely Texas Tech as a thank-you gift: a hand-branded wooden box containing Texas Tech tulip bulbs. The Double T hot brand used on the boxes was featured in the campaign videos that debuted that night. The tulips at Texas Tech are a favorite tradition that began in the early 1980s under alumnus Lauro Cavazos—then the university president and later the U.S. Secretary of Education. We also needed campaign-themed promotional items for the more relaxed concert and game-day atmosphere at the remaining two events. We designed bandanas, sunglasses, and can coolers with the never-before-seen graphic elements of the campaign.

An exquisitely designed and executed stewardship gift with clean and consistent branding, bold design, and a thoughtful tie-in to Texas Tech history. We love that the theme carried through the amazing campaign launch video, and the fact that many of the pieces were used post-launch for various university events. Branded by hand is neat. The nomination made us excited to see the items themselves, which were as impressive as described.
