HKIS Website: The Story of HKIS
From the Nominator
Imagine a website that speaks directly to you, guiding you through a story that resonates with your interests and needs. Our old website was far from this ideal—it served as a catch-all repository, cluttered with information and lacking a cohesive narrative. It was a resource for everyone, but spoke to no one in particular. Recognizing the need for a change, we embarked on a journey to reimagine our digital presence with a clear vision: to create an external website that speaks directly to our key audiences—prospective families, donors, alumni, and prospective employees. Our goal was to curate content meticulously, stripping away anything irrelevant to these groups. We designed the navigation with intention, ensuring every visual and prompt served a purpose for our target audience. The result? In just seven months, from conception to launch, we unveiled a website that is not only visually appealing but also tells a compelling story—the Hong Kong International School story.
From the Judges
Bows and knots are ancient symbols of strength, connections, and the ties that bind. This is exactly what the HKIS has accomplished with its purposeful website targeting prospective students, donors, alumni, and prospective employees. In this case, the red ribbon flowing throughout their pages symbolizes the unifying force of the HKIS mission and the collective student journey. The appealing and streamlined site has garnered excellent results associated with each target audience—increased student applications, escalated gifts, and additional faculty hires.
