HKIS Schoolwide Video: The Story of the Ribbon
From the Nominator
Creating a schoolwide video from scratch can be overwhelming. What story should we tell? Who should we feature? How long should it be? These are just a few of the many questions to consider before starting the project. Rather than getting stuck in indecision, the Hong Kong International School Marketing Team viewed this as an opportunity. We focused on one essential question: “How can we create a video that embodies the HKIS mission?” Imagine a beautiful red ribbon weaving through the expansive HKIS campus and its natural surroundings. This striking imagery symbolizes more than just an aesthetic element; it represents a unifying force at HKIS—the school mission and the journey it offers students. We used this ribbon motif, a simple yet elegant storytelling element introduced on our new website, as a central theme in our video. To create an inspiring schoolwide video that illustrates how the school mission gives purpose to our spaces, guides teachers, and shapes student learning, we focused on a concise script that resonates with viewers. We incorporated subtle animations, highlighted student voices, and collaborated with an experienced video production team. The result was a captivating video that met multiple objectives, inspired diverse audiences, and maintained a cohesive visual narrative.
