The theme of the fall issue of LSA Magazine was “Glimmers of Hope,” and our task for the creation of the cover was to draw readers into the stories of students, alumni, faculty, and staff who are trying to make the world a slightly brighter place. Our team brainstormed ideas for a cover concept, ultimately deciding on a visual metaphor for the profound impact that acts of kindness and hopeful moments can have: a person in a boat in serene waters, their movements revealing the hidden beauty beneath the surface of the water—an enchanting, light-speckled world that was previously concealed from view. The scene serves as a visual metaphor for the significant impact that a small act can reveal. The audience for the magazine is about 200,000 graduates of our college. The strategic goal of the magazine in general, and the cover in particular, is to communicate with our alumni in a way that makes them feel engaged with their alma mater.

Simple and gorgeous. Less is so much more here. The construction of this piece is so beautiful. This is a stunning cover, and we can't believe this team put this together by hand.
