Every Leaf is Unique Admissions Flipbook
From the Nominator
Elon University’s Office of University Communications worked collaboratively with the Office of Admissions to produce our flipbook, a new publication for use in 2024-25. The flipbook is mailed to prospective students who are sophomores and juniors. The publication’s purpose is to drive visits and provide overall awareness of Elon University. The publication tells the Elon story—specifically, the Elon student story—and expresses our brand attributes and differentiators in an authentic and memorable way. We have used a flipbook concept in the past but reimagined it after talking with students. We also owned the die used to cut the pages into three parts and wanted to take advantage of those cost savings.
From the Judges
This is a very well-executed viewbook. The oak leaf design is carried consistently throughout the piece, reinforcing the brand and enhancing visual cohesion. Using elements of the leaves to direct attention to key facts was a thoughtful design choice that kept the messaging clean and uncluttered. The leaves also worked effectively as a framing device, tying everything together to be cohesive and on-brand. The arrangeable flaps is a unique concept and well executed. It is clear a lot of thought went into the concept of this piece to make it uniquely Elon and tangible measurables show this piece had an impact. An easily replicable approach that other universities and schools could learn from.
