From the Nominator

Dr. v's Trivia Taxi: Holiday Edition was our creative take on the well-known Cash Cab game show. Instead of a traditional holiday message, we asked ourselves, “How can we create something fun and festive that also highlights the personality of our president and Oh-Wooo pride? To pull this off, we put President Matt vandenBerg (Dr. v) behind the wheel giving students rides to class while quizzing them on Ohio Wesleyan University-themed trivia. The casual format was entertaining, but it also showcased the genuine, easygoing relationship between Dr. v and our amazing Bishops. We wanted to engage people online and showcase the fun, relatable connection with our students, alumni, professors, and potential students through this short-form video. In order to record genuine, unplanned moments, the Office of University Communications created entertaining and humorous trivia questions and allowed students' responses to unfold organically. The Holiday Trivia Taxi video was one of our most successful social media campaigns, with 21,342 views and 516 interactions on Facebook, 8,307 plays and 959 interactions on TikTok, and 8,536 views and 355 interactions on Instagram. It was exciting to see both students and alumni engaging with the content. We even got requests to bring the Trivia Taxi back for big events like Reunion Weekend and Homecoming.

From the Judges

We enjoyed this video’s creative concept and charismatic president. The trivia idea is one that other organizations can build upon and make their own, perhaps by using trivia to recap the year’s highlights.
