Bentley University President's Report
From the Nominator
Not long into his time as Bentley University’s ninth President, E. LaBrent Chrite mulled the idea of producing a president’s report to showcase the innovative teaching and learning taking place on the business university’s Waltham campus, and around the world through strategic partnerships, programs, and conferences. The resulting first annual president’s report was published in print and online featuring a sleek design, compelling original photography, and raw data and numbers alongside inspiring editorial content about, among other things, exciting new research using cinematic virtual reality, new majors in artificial intelligence and financial technology, and collaborations with Meta, Gallup, and the Boston Celtics. Distributed to faculty and staff, select donors and alumni, and stakeholders at peer institutions through direct mail, email newsletter, and a web presence, the 45-page report reflects a university on the move. Assembled by a small in-house crew of two designers and two editors, the report represents just a fraction of the impressive work that takes place at Bentley every day.
From the Judges
Bentley University’s President’s Report impressed with its cohesive theme, striking design, and thoughtful storytelling. The consistent use of "At Bentley We Are" as section headers created a clear, engaging structure. Strong visuals—especially the use of white space and impactful photography—enhanced readability, while short, well-crafted stories made the content easy to read and understand. The integration of data, production insights, and strategic messaging elevated the report, demonstrating both creativity and clarity. Overall, this publication delivered a powerful narrative that effectively conveyed Bentley’s identity and achievements.
