Established in 1991, NTU Singapore is ranked among the world’s top universities. Despite the challenges of the global COVID-19 pandemic, NTU marked its 30th anniversary in 2021/22 by engaging its international and local stakeholders in a year-long celebration through several major initiatives and activities. The anniversary brought people together—online as well as at socially distanced in-person events—to share experiences and create a much-appreciated sense of belonging and community. Titled “30 years of Momentum. Pioneers Always,” NTU’s 30th-anniversary theme centered on the university’s rapid growth in the brief span of three decades and its vision for the future as it gathers pace to take on fresh challenges.
Our 30th-anniversary year-long celebration produced a robust suite of environmental graphics that enlivened our campus as well as projected a bold and eye-catching branded environment. This was especially important during online virtual events and social media photography capturing the festivities on campus. The distinct visual style mixed bold colors and strong graphic patterns in a creative way. It clearly signposted our anniversary in a recognizable and visually consistent manner throughout the year. The environmental graphics were foundational to generating and building excitement and pride within the NTU community and its extended family.
