From the Nominator

"This is a display for the entrance to Kenyon’s new home for the Career Development Office, situated on the second floor of the recently opened Chalmers Library. As an academic hub on campus, the library physically integrates Kenyon’s academic and career advising services to fully support students in navigating their college experiences. We partnered with the Career Development Office to help brand their new location and increase student traffic to and excitement around their space.  

One of the creative solutions we proposed and ultimately brought to life was what we called a “resume wall.” We researched alumni outcomes and highlighted 21 accomplishments that speak to the creative ways in which Kenyon graduates apply their learning to real-world work. We were intentional about including a mix of traditional career trajectories (an English and film major working at HBO) with more unexpected ones (a philosophy major hosting a leading political podcast) because recent research tells us that Kenyon students value connecting different disciplines in their coursework and careers.  

The goal of the display is to inspire students about the possibilities around their own career paths and to grab their attention so that they engage with the Career Development Office. Since its installation in December 2022, the display has been met with a great deal of enthusiasm from students and staff, and the office reports a desired uptick in student visitors."

From the Judges

Well-executed design that is both clean and modern. The attention to detail and the use of sleek aesthetics result in a visually appealing presentation. Judges loved the emphasis on alumni accomplishments, which adds a sense of pride and showcases the success stories of the institution's graduates. A job well done in creating a visually impressive and impactful representation of the institution and its accomplished alumni.
