The judges loved the intensity and appreciated the technical success of this image. The eye contact that is lost due to the mud splashing in front of the student athlete's face draws the viewer's attention to the horse's eyes and expression, which, framed by the splashing rain and mud, is unsettlingly captivating and unique.
