"York University’s 2021 holiday video celebrates the holiday season in a way that expresses the strengths of our diverse York community who, by working together, makes York special and creates positive change.
The video takes the viewer through the journey of a mysterious gift in a bright red box (leveraging the shape and colours of the York logo) across various scenes in a fun and interesting way. York’s mascot, Yeo the Lion, uses CAD software and a 3D printer to create this gift, which is handed from student to student across different faculties, departments, and campuses, showcasing the many different learning opportunities and extracurricular activities at our university. Hockey players shoot the gift like a puck, dance students pirouette with it, and others add their bow to it.
Finally, the gift is opened to reveal a branded red light switch that, when turned on, illuminates our YORKU giant letters on our two campuses. The video shows the collaboration in our community in bringing everyone together to achieve one common goal and bring light to the entire university community."
