    From the Nominator

In October 2020, UC Davis launched the public phase of its comprehensive multi-year giving campaign called “Expect Greater: From UC Davis. For the World.” Visibility to students, faculty, and staff was achieved in part by the design and installation of large format wall/window graphics in a well-trafficked area of campus, as well as via the design and installation of 150 light pole banners throughout all corners of UC Davis. The campaign’s unique visual brand is boldly represented on wall/window graphics at the university’s Conference Center, a frequently used meeting space for campus staff and visitors that also houses the main offices for UC Davis development staff. Light pole banners installed at central points of all colleges and schools throughout our large campus ensure campaign visibility to students and faculty no matter their major, university affiliation, or area of campus where they spend most of their time.

    From the Judges

It is apparent that this system was well thought out and planned to result in a campaign that is very cohesive both visually and in it’s messaging. The use of color and scale throughout the campaign shows great respect for the environments the pieces are a part of. The patterns and typography complement each other well and provide an excellent connection between the areas that incorporate photography and those like the pole banners that do not.
