“Who Was I in College?”
From the Nominator
The story: Now at the peak of his career, a globetrotting author ponders the hold college haunts have over him—who is the younger self he meets on returning to them, and why is he compelling to revisit student days. In his essay, “Who Was I In College?” Wright Thompson examines how certain places hold a mirror to a younger self.

From the Judges
MIZZOU continues to shine here, and show why it still deserves a ranking as one of the America's foremost journalism schools. This was a powerful story, great first-person narrative, and a surprisingly impactful subject for judges not related to athletics.
