Trinity Today is Trinity College Dublin’s annual alumni magazine. It is an essential connection between Trinity and its graduate population of more than 130,000 alumni worldwide. The main purpose of the magazine is to inform, inspire, and foster community among alumni, friends, donors, and prospective students of Trinity, and to engage them in the life of the university. Whether our reader is a recent graduate or a third-generation alumnus, the magazine is a bridge providing newsworthy content that will elevate pride as a member of the Trinity community, and lead to more engagement with the alumni network and the university.
The 2020 edition marked a distinct change in the history of the publication when the primarily printed magazine went fully digital. With this new digital-first approach we have created a wholly sustainable publication that truly captures the DNA of the university. The move to a digital flip book provided scope to showcase interesting and
important content in a creative, dynamic, and visually appealing way. We leveraged inventive design elements and graphics to encourage readers to interact with the magazine at every turn.
We set out to create an inherently interesting and current alumni magazine, with a strong focus on key individuals, research excellence, college achievements, nostalgia, and affinity. Designed to evoke the spirit of community and intended to stir vital multifaceted alumni conversations and engagement, the magazine strikes the right balance of thought-provoking writing, entertainment, and aesthetics to keep the readers engaged. The magazine encapsulates stories of Trinity’s connected community.

The format of Trinity Today, the Trinity College Alumni Magazine, set it apart from its competition. By utilizing a dynamic and interactive virtual platform, readers are able to be engaged with the magazine in a way that you simply can't achieve with print or a "typical" digital version including videos, slide-shows, links, and pop-ups. As noted by the very-strong open rate, this format is clearly effective. The content was extremely engaging, and we enjoyed that you could go back to it time and time again and have a different experience.
