    From the Nominator

“In These Times” is a limited podcast series of six episodes, with run times ranging from 21 to 39 minutes. The series used COVID-19 as a platform to explore the science, social science, and history that shaped events in 2020. Each episode is organized around a broad sub-theme, and includes faculty and students from a range of disciplines, bringing a broad liberal arts perspective into the conversation around the COVID crisis. The series was branded as a special feature of our alumni digital magazine, Omnia (which also has two print issues per year). It was written and produced entirely in-house, with writing and digital communications staff pivoting to work in this medium because of the limited opportunity to develop video content as result of COVID-19. The six episodes were released on a weekly schedule from October to December, with a hiatus around the election.

    From the Judges

“In These Times” is a polished production that reflects the hard work of a lot of different people. It's great to see so much care taken with all aspects of a podcast. The content is timely helps listeners understand complicated information that might otherwise be over their heads.
