    From the Nominator

William & Mary's Homecoming & Reunion Weekend is our biggest event of the year. Thousands of alumni come back to campus to celebrate and participate in more than 120 events over the course of the weekend. In 2019, the offices for university marking & advancement communications created an original communications campaign highlighting different alumni, students, faculty, and friends throughout the W&M community. By photographing how individuals express "Tribe Pride" in their own way, we were able to demonstrate the uniqueness of our entire William & Mary family, and celebrate a shared common bond. Because after all, W&M is the place you learn to be yourself. We are all different, but we all belong here.

    From the Judges

The judges thought it was brilliant to invite alumni be a part of this shoot. Not only was this a marketing communications win, it was a development/PR win as well because of how it engaged alumni. The simple backdrops allowed focus on the subjects and their myriad personalities, and we applauded that the "tribe" was allowed to wear whatever they wanted. That provided for an array of fun looks that could be used in so many ways throughout the year.
