    From the Nominator

"Infinite Possibilities" was shared in February 2019 at a 300-person alumni event in Los Angeles to celebrate the transformational research in science and engineering that is supported through Caltech's Break Through fundraising campaign. In this video, president Rosenbaum provides the big-picture narrative—in particular, the notion that the institute's commitment to research and education is vital as it yields advances that could not have been imagined just five years ago. The purpose of the video is to communicate the message that "philanthropy is the engine that drives big questions"; without it, Caltech would not be able to pursue fundamental and applied science as rigorously as it does in its unusually collaborative, high-risk, high reward environment. The video continues to be shared at other campaign events and via social channels, e-newsletters, and the campaign website.

    From the Judges

CalTech has produced an eye-catching overview of the diverse programs and studies that occur there. Beautiful imagery of campus, individuals, and labs is accompanied by an ambitious score, the result of which is both gripping and cinematic. The individual stories woven together are compelling and lead to a great ask. We loved how the film carried an energy not seen in other entries.
