    Subject Guide: Culture of Philanthropy

Q: Does CASE have any resources on growing a culture of philanthropy?

A: The CASE Library already maintains extensive collections on student philanthropy and faculty and staff giving, two building blocks in developing a campus-wide culture of philanthropy. But to respond to this question, we have also pulled together resources on growing a culture of philanthropy.

In 2012, CASE conducted a study on building a culture of philanthropy through the efforts of the CASE Commission on Philanthropy. The survey asked participants to indicate the importance of various factors in building a culture of philanthropy and to assess their institutions' effectiveness in each area. Results are examined in the April 2013 Currents article, "Material interest," by Peter N. Smits and Andrew Paradise.
