Stop shying away from delivering presentations and step into the spotlight. Learn how to captivate your audiences and gain the visibility you deserve.

Mariana Ferrari is a public speaking and influential leadership coach specializing in emotional intelligence and communications. In a recent Forbes article, she shares these four techniques to help improve presentation skills:

    • Be emotionally savvy. “Before you start, you might be fearing if you’ve got it all right, while your audience will be wondering if your presentation will be worth their time,” writes Ferrari to explain the importance of being fully aware of both your emotions and the audience’s emotions,
    • Keep it simple. Your presentation should have only one main point, and you should repeat the one main point throughout your presentation. “Here’s my simple formula for you to steal,” Ferrari writes.  “What doesn’t add, subtracts; what subtracts needs to go!
    • Use powerful words. Be clear on your message. “Here is where words matter,” Ferrari states. “Choose the most emotionally powerful ones, especially the adjectives.”
    • Fascinate your audience. Use the power of storytelling and take a pause to create suspense in your conversation with the public.
