Bio

Michelle is the University of Richmond’s assistant vice president for foundation, corporate, and government relations. In this capacity, she and her team provide campus-wide leadership and support to faculty and administrators seeking to secure external funding for individual research, institutional programs, and other scholarly and creative endeavors. Prior to joining the University of Richmond in 2009, Michelle spent 12 years at the University of Virginia, most recently serving as the UVA Health System’s director of foundation and corporate relations. With a background that includes annual, major gift, and grateful patient fundraising, she has presented, lectured, and trained others on topics ranging from proposal writing for gift officers to the changing landscape of healthcare philanthropy to non-profit board development. Michelle co-presented two sessions at the 2018 CASE CFR conference, as well as “Leading from the Middle: Amplifying the Role of CFR Officers” at the 2017 CASE CFR and 2018 NACRO conferences. She holds a Master of Public Administration from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University and received her undergraduate degree from the University of New Hampshire.
