In 2021, Melissa Mount joined Fort Lewis College as the college’s vice present for advancement. She also serves as the chief executive officer of the Fort Lewis College Foundation. Building on more than 15 years of experience, her leadership has been a driving force behind the fundraising team’s remarkable growth and success.

Prior to Fort Lewis College, Mount held key roles at Northern Arizona University. Through her work, she successfully established the principal gifts program, closed the second largest gift and contributed to transformative student programs, interdisciplinary research and Native American initiatives. Her leadership helped successfully position Fort Lewis College as a community leader.

Mount’s leadership fosters an environment where her team can pursue bold ideas and take calculated risks to advance the institution’s mission. She remains dedicated to lifelong learning and is a strong advocate for her staff.
