Katie is a long-time member of the SFU community, having completed both her BA and MA in History at SFU and, since October 2022, has been the Senior Associate Director of Advancement for the Faculty of Applied Sciences.

After completing her degrees at SFU, Katie went to work in the non-profit sector so she could use the skills she learned at SFU to have a positive impact on the world. As a fundraiser at Heart & Stroke, she worked with major donors and corporations to fund preventative health education, lifesaving research, and essential programs to support those living with the effects of heart disease and stroke. Katie left Heart & Stroke to take on the role of Director of Communications, Brand, and Marketing for Little Kitchen Academy, a Montessori-inspired cooking school for children, which she helped grow from just one location open in Vancouver to nine across North America and more than 100 in development.

In her spare time, Katie loves reading a good book with a cup of tea, spinning on her Peloton, and baking delicious gluten-free treats.
