Congratulations to the 2020 Frank L. Ashmore Award for Service to CASE and the Advancement Profession winner: Lynette Marshall.

The Frank L. Ashmore Award for Service to CASE and the Advancement Profession honors a current or former staff member at a CASE-member institution or educational partner who has served CASE in extraordinary ways. The American College Public Relations Association, a CASE predecessor organization, first presented this award in 1968. Originally known as the Presidential Citation, it was renamed in 1973 to honor the memory of Frank L. Ashmore, the director of ACPRA from 1959 to 1961.

Nominations for this award are reviewed by members of the CASE Board of Trustees, which ultimately selects the winner.

People who meet these criteria are eligible for nomination:

    • From a CASE member institution or Educational Partner, or retired from a CASE member institution.
    • Contributed to building and growing the advancement profession globally.
    • Made significant contributions to CASE.

The person submitting the nomination must be from a CASE member institution or Educational Partner.

Due to the global pandemic, nominations for this award are currently on hold. Thank you for your patience.

All nomination information and materials are submitted online by someone at a CASE member institution or Educational Partner.

The nominator also will be asked to upload four documents:

    1. A letter of nomination that:
      • Describes the length, type and variety of service that the nominee has given to the advancement profession, and the resulting impact.
      • Explains how has the nominee been involved with CASE. Examples may include serving as a volunteer leader, conference speaker/faculty, book author, advisory group member, etc.
      • Articulates what sets this nominee apart from other individuals who have contributed to CASE and the field of educational advancement?
    2. Nominee's professional or related vita, a brief bio or link to similar information, such as LinkedIn.
    3. Two supporting letters (not from the nominator) endorsing the nomination.

    Guidance for letters:

    • Please reference the name of the award, and limit the letter to not more than two pages.
    • Letters can be addressed to the CASE Board of Trustees Awards Subcommittee, Washington, DC.
    • Documents can be in PDF or Word format.
    • Please do not mail any materials directly to CASE.
