Partial tuition waivers available for CASE members pursuing the Certificate in Planned Giving Management
Through the generous support of the Planned Giving Initiative (PGI), CASE members now have access to partial tuition waivers for the Certificate in Planned Giving Management, offered by the Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy.
CASE is proud to partner with the Planned Giving Initiative to support the next generation of planned giving professionals through these partial tuition waivers, along with the National Association of Charitable Gift Planners (CGP) and the Association for Fundraising Professionals (AFP).
The Certificate in Planned Giving Management is a comprehensive program designed to equip fundraising professionals with the expertise needed to develop and manage effective planned giving programs. This certificate program covers a wide range of topics—through its three courses: Getting the Proper Start, Beyond the Basics, Building an Effective Program—from foundational principles to advanced strategies, ensuring participants gain a deep understanding of both the technical and nontechnical aspects of planned giving.
Tuition Waiver Details for CASE Members
The certificate comprises three courses, with partial tuition waivers available for each—totaling approximately half of the full certificate cost:
- The first course partial tuition waiver is $450 (approx. one-third of tuition).
- The second course partial tuition waiver is $650 (approx. half of tuition).
- The third course partial tuition waiver is $900 (approx. two-thirds of tuition).
Who is Eligible?
Applicants must:
- Be a current staff member of a CASE member institution across the globe.
- While this tuition waiver is available to applicants worldwide, please note that the majority of the course content is non-geographic and globally applicable. However, a portion of the course is tailored specifically to U.S. tax law and regulations. If you are not working with donors in the U.S. where tax considerations are relevant, this tuition waiver may not be the best fit for your needs. - Have demonstrated interest in planned giving—whether to deepen current expertise or to explore it as a potential career path in fundraising and philanthropy.
- Commit to completing all three required courses in the certificate program.
- Have endorsement from a supervisor or organizational leader confirming support for participation in the program.
Application Deadlines
Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, with priority consideration given to those submitted by the following deadline: July 10, 2026. Applicants are encouraged to submit their materials in advance of these dates to ensure timely review and maximize scholarship availability.

The applicant will be asked to answer the following questions:
- How did you come to work in educational advancement?
- Why do you do the work that you do?
- What draws you to learn more about planned giving, and how do you see it playing a role in your current or future work in advancement?
- What do you think distinguishes you from others who may apply for this scholarship?
- What professional development and institutional needs, would you hope to meet by completing this certification?
- Describe your advancement office (size, scope of work), and your role within the office.
- What initial session do you intend to complete within the certificate. (Course, Location/Modality & Date).
The applicant will also be asked to upload the following:
- Current resume
- A letter of support on institutional letterhead from the applicant's supervisor.
- A professional photo, which can be used by CASE for promotional purposes if the nominee's application is successful.
