Creating Inclusive Events
With Equity, Diversity, Inclusion & Belonging (EDIB) emerging at the forefront of university Strategic Plans, Advancement teams must weave EDIB practices throughout their entire event process. Events should leave participants with meaningful takeaways and stronger connectivity to their post-secondary institution. Mike and Alicia have designed, planned, and implemented alumni events and programs that include and engage diverse alumni groups, leaving participants with important lessons to take back to their respective personal and professional lives. They will each provide an example of a signature event that brought together institution-wide collaboration at Queen's University and will highlight how to create positive EDIB change and advance strategic objectives.
