About the Honoree

Arturo Cherbowksi Lask is the Director Ejecutivo of Santander Universidades, and Santander Universidades, México. He has led Santander Universidades since 2011. With more than 20 years of experience working with and supporting higher education institutions, he has been a champion for advancement in Latin America. He has led the international meetings of Rectores Universia and he has been an invaluable partner for CASE. Recently he supported three online programs in Spanish about advancement and the pilot for the first benchmarking study on philanthropy in Latin America. 

About the Award

The James L. Fisher Award for Distinguished Service to Education celebrates individuals, foundations, and corporations for their extraordinary global impact on education, beyond service to a single institution. This award was named, in 1986, in tribute to CASE’s second president, James L. Fisher.

The CASE Board of Trustees selects the recipient of this award.
