Bio

In 2016 Ari and Janine Soroken left successful careers in New York City and moved to Princeton, New Jersey where Ari continued to work as Chief Financial Officer for Bai Brands and oversaw its sale to Dr. Pepper Snapple for $1.7B. Not wasting any time, in 2017, the Sorokens turned their energy and focus to supporting Princeton’s local educational institutions.

Supporting education has always been a focus for Ari. While neither of his parents had the opportunity to attend college, they understood the impact a sound education could have on being successful and making a meaningful contribution to one’s community. As a matter of fact, to this day Ari’s ninety-four-year-old mother plays a vital role in development work for her local educational and cultural institutions. This lesson was not lost on Ari and he supported the educational institutions he attended through volunteer and fundraising work.

Today, Ari is a trustee of Stuart Country Day School where his daughter, Lillian, is a ninth-grader and he serves as co-chair of the Capital Campaign and Development Committees. Ari’s passion and commitment to Stuart were evidenced early on when he established the Soroken Faculty Excellence Fund enabling Stuart to better recruit, retain and develop faculty. Ari believes Stuart is a rare combination of rigorous academics and values-based education with a focus on leadership development for girls, which is in demand today.

Currently, Janine Soroken is a board member of the Princeton Nursery School (PNS), a preschool providing a quality education program and child care to families in need. Her role at PNS goes beyond managerial and financial support. Janine’s involvement in any organization comes with high energy, passion, and hands-on work. One of her favorite tasks is the weekly trip to local food banks in her husband’s pickup truck to load up donations for the school’s food insecurity program. Janine also supports Stuart Country Day School as co-chair of the Capital Campaign and a member of the school’s Development Committee. Janine offers years of organizational and managerial skills to any endeavor she undertakes and is never afraid to get her hands dirty.
