Get Involved with District VII
CASE District VII offers an abundance of opportunities for networking, career growth, and education--from attending workshops to competing in awards programs to participating in the annual district conference.
Those who gain the most from CASE, however, are the volunteers. From planning a workshop to presenting at the conference to being a judge for an awards competition, volunteering can give you prime opportunities to develop your advancement career, expand your professional network, and grow personally.
The District VII Conference offers a multitude of educational sessions across the advancement profession. Planning and carrying out the conference requires an army of volunteers who plan session topics, recruit speakers, arrange logistical details, create conference marketing materials, help with registration, host individual sessions, conduct roundtable discussions, and serve as speakers.
To foster local networking and provide additional educational opportunities, District VII sponsors small, one-day workshops in various locations around the district on any advancement topic. Volunteers are needed to plan, host, and speak at workshops. If you have an idea for a workshop, if you would like to host a workshop on your campus, or if you want to speak at one, please contact education committee chair Michelle Barber-Lyhnakis.
Each year the district sponsors an awards program to recognize quality advancement work and to highlight the best practices of the profession. The success of the awards program depends on volunteer judges and judging coordinators. If you would like to be a judge or to help coordinate the judging process, please contact awards committee chair Jane Eadie.
Board of Directors
The CASE District VII Board of Directors tends to the business of the district. Calls for nominations are made annually. Board members are expected to serve on one of the board's committees: Governance, Professional Development, and Outreach. In addition, the board oversees the biennial District VII Conference. If you would like to nominate someone to serve on the board, please contact past chair Carri Jenkins.
The work of the district includes many other efforts as well. If you would like to volunteer in a way not listed above—or if you want to volunteer but don't care what you do—please contact district chair Cheryl House or another member of the board of directors.
