A Partner’s Perspective of Best Practice in Harnessing The Power of Public-Private Partnerships
More than ever, funders are moving away from transactional giving and seeking deeper involvement and collaboration with the institutions they invest in. At the same time, the public expects to see leading organisations working together to solve the world’s most pressing issues.
Research Offices and Advancement Offices each have a role in building an institution’s funding resources and reputation. Harnessing the collective power of revenue-generating/public-facing Research and Advancement teams by working in tandem can turn smaller scale investments into transformational partnerships. Through panel discussions, case studies and expert insights, explore how working together can make both Research and Advancement functions stronger and more effective in building the mutually beneficial relationships that are critical to success.
Understanding the motivation of each funder and aligning this back to your organisation’s strategy, operational needs or research endeavours is critical to making a match. But once established, how do you maintain and strengthen these relationships for long-term, mutual gains? Hear directly from the corporations, foundations and government representatives who hold the power to make or break major funding partnerships for your institution. Bringing external stakeholder perspectives into the conversation, this online event also offers an opportunity to learn what is most important to funders when building authentic, lasting partnerships.
The Australasian Research Management Society (ARMS) and the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) are presenting a two day workshop detailing how Research Offices and Advancement Offices can build on one another’s strengths to navigate multi-partner initiatives and scale an initial investment into a significant institution-wide funding initiative. In its second year, this event will benefit mid-career to senior level leaders managing research and philanthropy (or both), Research Office and Advancement Office staff, College and Departmental staff responsible for attracting research funding, and Development Officers across research-driven organisations.
